we are ready for the siege.

this yves saint laurent bag is all mine. hoorah! good black canvas mixed with brown trim will match, just about, everything. i adore vintage finds.

and here is today's after-monday-stress song.
the royal we by silversun pickups

hearts can never be made unbreakable.

yes. i have a face, but that day my face looked a little too surprised when i jumped. oh well..this was an outfit i wore a couple of days ago to complete my first set of portraits for photography class. let's just say that day was a learning experience.

p.s. i don't know why this summer is being filled with white shirts and denim cutoffs. gah, i need something interesting...

top: forever 21; denim cutoffs: gift from friend; sheer grey tights: urban outfitters; shoes: ebay.

spark.

just a little something to get the inspiration/brain juices flowing.

"but photogenic? I never really thought of myself like that."

vivienne westwood.
"fashion is very important. it is life-enhancing and, like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well."

edie sedgwick.
"i do love alice in wonderland though, that's something i think i could do very well."

mischa barton.
"pretty people aren't as accepted as other people. it's like, 'she's pretty and thin and she's got to have problems. she's messed up.'"

bettie page.
"i was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer. i wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time. i didn't think of myself as liberated, and i don't believe that i did anything important. i was just myself. i didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live."

scarlett johansson.
"LA's a very hard place to be unless you have people there that love you. it can be very, very lonely, and it can eat you up if you don't take care of yourself.

karen o.
"i had my hair pulled back and the hoop earrings. i was interested in style, but not necessarily in fashion..."

zooey deschanel.
"i don't want vanity to ever get in the way, because i think to maintain that, you have to be aware of yourself all the time..."

the horrors. (yes, an entire band....of boys)
"she's a special girl you know, the kind i'd hope to see, hanging on a wall, watching me cross the street."

slippery slope.

lately, life has been busy, again, and catching up with me. this week was the start of summer classes. already those are proving to be a challenge just because they take up so much time.

i will try to post, but it is not guaranteed...and may not begin again until august.

what is today but yesterday's tomorrow.

summer staple = denim cutoffs. just in case you have yet to realize a pattern. however, this was not a smart outfit considering the rain and hail that poured all over california yesterday. luckily, boyfriend's are willing to give up their sweatshirts as you rush into barnes and noble.

jacket: covet. floral tank: thrift. cut-off shorts: friend's. grey heels: steve madden.
